Welcome to Chasing Planner Peace's 'Spotlight on a Planner' series. We aim to show the world how planning has changed people's lives and showcase the different methods people use when chasing planner peace.

This month, March 2019, we chat to Denielle Whicker, the owner of Angel Handmade Papercraft.

Please tell us a bit about yourself

I am from the Camden area in SW Sydney NSW, I am a wife to Peter and a mum to 2 boys and a step mum to 1 girl and 2 boys.

I work in a Medical Centre as a Receptionist 3 days a week, including every weekend, to be able to be a mum during the week and do all the school and mum stuff.

How did you get into planning?

My now husband and I moved in together with all the kids 12 months ago, so as my life got busier and I was juggling so much around, I realised I needed to start writing things down and that’s where my planner came into it. I had used a planner previously but not to the extent I do now. I also have Design Team commitments that I need to keep track of.

I began a few years ago with a spiral planner but it just wasn’t working so after only a short amount of time I gave up on it. Last year my friend suggested buying a Kikki K large planner, and this is where CPP came into, the inserts were just not working for me and we came across the CPP shop. I got everything I needed to fill up my planner and I finally started to see some organisation happening. I could keep track of all my Design Team and family stuff in one place.

I was able to also mix my planner with my Design Team projects by decorating inside my planner.

What products are you currently loving?

I am loving my A5 planner, but most of all I recently found the Paper Mate Flairs, how did I not know about these I don’t know. They are a planner's dream.

What are your best tips for achieving planner peace?

My biggest tip is to make it your own, add what you need remove what you don’t. Don’t overload yourself trying to use all aspects of your planner just because it works for everyone else.
